The Energy Commission in the state of California has recently approved $23 million dollars in funding for a variety of projects that focus on advancing fueling stations and green fuels.
The investments will ultimately be beneficial as climate change can be pioneered, dependence on foreign oil will decrease and the environment will improve. The Energy Commissioner whose name is Carla Peterman elaborates on how the awards help to support projects that focus on vehicle technology and brand new emerging fuels. There will also be many efforts that are supported such as scientific research and developing alternate stations for fueling. Finally, residents in California will benefit as news jobs are created and more transportation options are provided.
The awards will ultimately be provided by the “Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program”. The fuel program allocates nearly $100 million dollars towards a variety of renewable fuel initiatives. Additional investment is also received for the brand new clean energy technology.
The first recipient of the award is Clean World Partners and they will utilize $6 million dollars for increasing the capacity of the Biorefinery from 25 to 100 tons. The second recipient of the energy award is EdeniQ Incorporated and they will receive approximately $4 million dollars so that modifications can occur with the biorefinery as woody plant materials can be optimized. The third recipient of the award is the University of California, Davis and they will receive about $2.7 million dollars to research the value and any drawbacks that are associated with alternate fuels. The fourth recipient is TMD Group and they will receive approximately $2 million dollars which will be used for marketing purposes so that the California Market can accept the use of alternate types of fuel. There were also 11 more other recipients of the energy awards.
Overall, more funding should be provided for companies that are creating ways to produce a sustainable future.
