The CRES (Colorado Renewable Energy Society) has announced the opening of the Denver Sustainability Park.
The Energy Forum will be taking place in the Denver region during the month of May during the days of the 13th to the 17th. The CRES is also one of the energy efficient leaders as they are producing the Energy Forum that will be taking place. The ultimate creation of the sustainability park was to display the ultimate future of utilizing renewable energy. The 2.7 acre park is located in the downtown region of Denver and a variety of technologies and practices that are healthy will be on display for the thousands of people at the Energy Forum.
The DHA (Denver Housing Authority) contacted the Colorado Renewable Energy Society in the year 2010 to discuss plans for efficiently reconstructing the Curtis Park that was located in Denver. The DHA’s main goals for the city is to establish a stronger community through efficient health practices and energy measures that are stable.
The Denver Housing Authority had five areas that were important in sustainable design. Urban agriculture, buildings that are green, energy that is renewable, efficient use of the water and outreaches that were educational was the 5 goals of sustainability according to the DHA.
The Colorado Renewable Energy Society is currently installing technologies that focus on renewable energy. The CRES is also installing a variety of solar technologies as well. The financial viability of the park also needs to be analyzed to ultimately determine how renewable energy will be efficiently applied to the existing development of the park. Currently, the sustainable park in Denver has street lights that are LED and pedestrian lights that are solar powered. The sustainable technologies will save the city of Denver money as well.
Overall, the establishment of the Denver Sustainability Park is the correct step towards a more efficient sustainable future.
