Chairman Hendrick Schuur states that the community will need to be a form of support as the economic development plans are prepared and implemented in Jackson County.
The initial goal of the Enterprise Group was to retain the jobs and recruit new businesses to the surrounding region. The average annual budget that the organization utilizes is approximately $1.2 million dollars with sources from the government and private businesses in the area.
The Jackson County also distributes approximately $100,000 dollars to the organization as they work to increase and retain the amount of jobs. The Chairman points out that revenue can come from a variety of sources which is beneficial as they do not throw all of their eggs in one basket.
Many people also believe that the Jackson County does not need to rely on the Enterprise Group as they have leaders that can come up with economic development plans of their own.
