An economic development plan has been established in the County of Santa Rosa in Florida that is similar to the local TEAM setup.

The committee for economic development will be a partnership which is private or public and has a member roster of approximately 25 Board of Directors. There will also be five representatives for the commission as well. The structure of the new economic development team is similar to the structure of the Council which is called TEAM. Currently, the commission no longer wants to do business with TEAM as there are too many changes. The various commissioners did not want to extend the contract of TEAM as changes were not made during an extension period of six months.

One of the most important differences between the new economic development team is that decisions in regards to the budget and the election of an executive director will be handled by the agency committee. More accountability is ultimately going to be needed by the economic development team as the county allocates money towards various economic projects. Ultimately, the new development and transition team will replace the older TEAM setup and will work efficiently to develop the region of Santa Rosa.

A Chief Lieutenant named Shannon Ogletree will be assigned as the leader for advancing economic development projects in Santa Rosa until an established organization can be created. The expiration of the old development agency is set for March 31, 2012. The Vice Chairman for the committee states that the group is under pressure as the deadline approaches and major important decisions need to be made. A Commissioner named Lane Lynchard states that the time constraint is going to refocus the leaders as they develop economic strategies to boost the surrounding community in Santa Rosa.

Economic Development will now be the number one priority for the local leaders as the deadline approaches.
