The city of Winston Salem, North Carolina has recently announced advancements in regards to economic development.
Some of the economic developments in the region of Winston Salem included the construction of a manufacturing plant by Caterpillar and a facility for maintenance which was funded by North State Aviation.
Many of the new economic development plans will need highly skilled and educated individuals in the fields of technology, science, math and engineering. The so called STEM type of education is said to be the leading force for the economic development of entire nations which includes the United States.
The United States is actually trailing other countries in the amount of people with technology, science, math and engineering degrees. Many countries such as China, India and South Korea have nearly doubled and quadrupled the amount of students receiving degrees within the important sectors. Ultimately, the United States is going to have to rely on increasing the amount of students in order to effectively develop the nation.
The STEM type of education is a pivotal factor that will determine the economic development of various countries. It is estimated that nearly 80 percent of jobs in the near future are going to require some abilities and skills in the region of technology, science, math and engineering.
A pivotal survey was also conducted in which 87 percent of technology CEO’s recommended that STEM skills are going to be crucial in order to effectively complete the duties of a job.
Ultimately, individuals with STEM skills will have a career with a high paying job and will continually earn more throughout the years. Many of the jobs that are high paying have employees that do not have the proper STEM skills to complete the job and due to that negative factor, many companies have to make crucial cutbacks.
